MADAMFO GHANA FOUNDATION HANDED OVER ESSENTIAL FACILITIES TO DZILAKOPE AND SURROUNDING AREAS

The Dzilakope community, a small island in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region, has long faced difficulties in accessing quality healthcare and education.For residents, obtaining basic necessities like medical care and schooling was a major challenge, typically requiring hours of travel across the lake. However, this situation is now improving for the community. The Madamfo Ghana Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has handed over essential facilities to Dzilakope and surrounding areas, including a 6-unit classroom block, a Community Health Planning and Services (CHIP) compound, nurses’ quarters, and teachers’ quarters. This handover represents a significant milestone, bringing quality education and healthcare within reach of the islanders.The event attracted a good number of chiefs and people from neighbouring island communities, as well as educationists from the Krachi West Municipality. Mr. Enock Sunday Atipo, Deputy Country Director of the Madamfo Ghana Foundation, explained that the foundation’s intervention was prompted by the extreme difficulties faced by the people of Dzilakope and its environs in accessing quality healthcare and education. He noted that the communities were already deprived of basic social amenities, and lack of education and healthcare would have compounded their problems, which is why the Madamfo Ghana Foundation stepped in to help.Mr. Prosper Kwaku Addo, Municipal Chief Executive Officer for the Krachi West Municipality, urged parents in the area to view education as the key to their children’s future and to ensure they attend school, as there is now no excuse to keep them at home.Mr. Agbesi Simon, former Presiding Member for the Krachi West Municipality, expressed deep gratitude to the Madamfo Ghana Foundation for their timely intervention. He recalled that the Dzilakope community had lost many young, energetic individuals due to lack of access to healthcare, with some dying while seeking medical care elsewhere.

LIGHT BRIGHTEN ODOMANKOMA COMMUNITY WITH A NEW HOPE

A new hope has located the Odomankoma community as NGOs and other individuals donate educational materials to Odomankoma M/A primary school.Hope – Help Odomankoma Progress through Education was the slogan used when Mr. Godsway,a teacher, through an appeal on social media, drew the attention of Chris Yaa and other individuals brought educational materials to the Odomankoma primary.Speaking at the ceremony,Mr. Godsway Tawiah applauded Chris Yaa and the individuals who brought this hope to young ones.He also appealed to the Krachi West Municipal Education Director and the Municipal Chief Executive Officer to be of help in other areas that could not help NGO and individuals. According to Mr Tawiah,the school lacks furniture,borehole, and among others were listed.The school feeding program and three units classrooms block were also appealed to be looked at. The Municipal Director of Education,Mr Samuel Dovulo, applauded Mr. Godsway Tawiah for his bold steps towards improving education in the Odomankoma community.He has also assured the Odomankoma primary of supporting them.Mr. Dovulo said that plans are underway for equipping the schools in krachi West Municipal with furniture once the contractor is done.The Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Prosper Kwaku Addo,who was a teacher before assuming his current position, was not surprised with the current situation at the school. He said that as a new hope has located the Odomankoma community, the NDC government is working hard to solve all these challenges.Mr. Addo said, “All arrangements have been made to tackle all the challenges listed.On the issue of the bad road network leading to the community,Mr Addo said the region DRIP equipment machine will soon start, and for the school feeding, he said in the next two weeks, the career will start.He has also assured the Odomankoma community of boreholes,three units classrooms block,furniture.Items donated are speed boat with engine boat,books,pencils and other educational related items.

GHANA’S MOST OUTSTANDING TEACHER DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO SCHOOLS IN KRACHI WEST

Madam Fusena Fuseini, Ghana’s most outstanding teacher of 2024, had returned to her roots in Kete Krachi to make a difference. With a passion for education that knew no bounds, she embarked on an initiative to donate learning materials to kindergarten schools in the area.The excitement began with a vibrant float through the community, spreading awareness about the importance of education and generating buzz among the residents. As the float made its way through the streets, Madam Fuseini’s message was clear: education is the key to unlocking the potential of the young minds.The grand finale of the program was a durbar with the chiefs and people of the community. Madam Fuseini, with her warm smile and infectious enthusiasm, expressed her joy in being able to give back to her community. As a kindergarten teacher herself, she understood the significance of these learning materials in shaping the young learners’ educational journey.But Madam Fuseini’s commitment didn’t stop there. She pledged to provide training for kindergarten teachers in the municipality, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. Her dedication to the cause was evident in her words: “As a teacher who teaches at the kindergarten level, I know how important these materials are to the children.”The Member of Parliament for Kachi West constituency, Hon. Helen Adwoa Ntoso, was present at the durbar and applaud Madam Fuseini’s initiative. She pledged her support, recognizing the impact that this endeavor could have on the community.Madam Fuseini also expressed her gratitude to the government for their efforts in promoting education and called for continued support from the government and other institutions to help her with future projects. With her tireless efforts, Madam Fusena Fuseini was not only inspiring young minds but also empowering the next generation of leaders in the Kachi West Municipality.
